More than 1,000 people attended the first Twin Cities community celebration of World Refugee Day in 2007, and the planning is underway for this year’s event! June 20, 2008 will be a day full of performances, food, an immigrant resource fair and more to celebrate the many refugees who have made new homes in Minnesota. 

Take part in World Refugee Day by volunteering! Before the event, help hang posters, or help with set-up, tear-down and staffing the event on June 20. Email sharon.bangsund at lssmn.org for more information.

Twin Cities World Refugee Day is an event planned by a committee of representatives from a variety of refugee-serving organizations in the Twin Cities.
The fiscal agent for the 2008 event is Minnesota International Health Volunteers.
